ER doctors overwhelmed, patient surge strains resources
An emergency room doctor in Thailand reports their department has been overwhelmed for the past two to three months, with over ten doctors on the morning shift still unable to examine patients quickly enough. The doctor shared a Facebook post illustrating the severe overcrowding, showing patients on trolleys extending beyond the department. This situation occurs on top of national referrals and a high volume of cases including drug use, psychiatric issues, and accidents. The doctor is questioning if other hospitals are experiencing similar surges and how understaffed departments manage their patient loads.
