Influencer's botched nose job leaves her struggling to breathe.

Influencer girl complains about crooked nose surgery at clinic, affecting breathing, treatment lasting over 2 years, still no remedy

On August 17th at 10:00 AM, at the Thanakrit Law Firm office, Romklao Road, Ladkrabang District, Bangkok, Ms. Joy, a 25-year-old TikTok influencer, the victim, recounted that she underwent nose surgery at a clinic in October 2023 for 65,000 baht. It was a review case, so she did not pay any fees. The surgery involved nose augmentation and tip support using ear cartilage. After the surgery, she found her nose tilted to the left. The doctor claimed it was due to the nose base being tilted but did not inform her beforehand. Later, she experienced redness and inflammation in her nose. The clinic treated her by opening the ear cartilage, incurring an additional 5,000 baht. However, the nose tip remained inflamed, red, and structurally collapsed, with a risk of perforation. Ultimately, the silicone had to be removed, and the nose was left to rest. The doctor advised waiting 6 months for further correction, but the victim refused, stating she did not want to undergo another procedure as the first two attempts were unsuccessful. Currently, she is consulting with a doctor about treatment options, estimating the cost of a third nose correction at 300,000 baht. The clinic initially offered compensation of 65,000-80,000 baht.

The clinic cited the review contract, stating they could use her images until 2027. Despite her ongoing treatment for over two years, the clinic continues to use her before-and-after photos for reviews. She now experiences breathing difficulties on the left side, requiring nasal sprays and asthma inhalers. Her consulting doctor advised restructuring the nose. Additionally, she cannot work on camera and has missed out on various opportunities. She chose the clinic because the doctor specialized in plastic surgery and had good review cases, leading her to trust them.

Colonel Dr. Thanakrit Jitra-ariyan, of the Thanakrit Jit-Aasa group, revealed that the victim currently has a crooked nose and has had the device removed, with no compensation from the clinic. He has coordinated with the Health Service Support Department, Ministry of Public Health, to investigate the facts according to the Medical Service Act. The clinic should be held responsible for the victim’s breathing difficulties and should compensate her. He will also report the clinic to the Medical Council for further investigation into their treatment standards.
