15 provinces warned of floods and landslides October 11-13.

The government has issued a warning for 15 provinces and 29 districts to be vigilant against forest runoff and landslides. Residents in high-risk areas are advised to closely follow announcements from government agencies.

Ms. Lalida Periswivathan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that residents in high-risk areas of 15 provinces and 29 districts have been alerted to the potential for landslides and forest runoff between October 11 and October 13.

The affected provinces and districts include Tak (Amphoe Phop Phra, Umphang), Uthai Thani (Amphoe Ban Rai), Kamphaeng Phet (Amphoe Khlong Lan), Kanchanaburi (Amphoe Thong Pha Phum), Prachuap Khiri Khan (Amphoe Bang Saphan, Bang Saphan Noi), Krabi (Amphoe Khao Phanom, Khlong Thom), Phang Nga (Amphoe Mueang Phang Nga, Kuraburi, Thap Put, Ko Yao), Nakhon Si Thammarat (Amphoe Chang Klang), Surat Thani (Amphoe Tha Chana, Tha Chang, Phanom, Wiang Sa), Chumphon (Amphoe Pathio), Ranong (Amphoe Suk Samran, Kapoe, Mueang Ranong), Satun (Amphoe Mueang Satun, Khuan Kalong), Songkhla (Amphoe Rattaphum), Trang (Amphoe Palian, Yan Ta Khao), and Yala (Amphoe Bannang Sata, Tharto).

Residents in these high-risk areas, particularly those in hillside and sloping communities, are urged to closely monitor official announcements. If any unusual signs are observed, such as continuous heavy rainfall, changes in stream water color or rapid level increases, or soil flow from sloping areas, immediate evacuation to a safe location is recommended.

Furthermore, the Advanced Precipitation Model (AP Model) has identified additional high-risk areas in several southern provinces. The Department of Mineral Resources is coordinating with the disaster monitoring network to conduct continuous monitoring and rainfall measurement to ensure timely and accurate alerts are provided to the public.
