Thailand targets ASEAN Cup glory against Indonesia.

The Thai national football team conducted their final training session at Madyah Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, on October 4th, as they prepare to face the Indonesian national team in the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final. The Thai ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Praphan Disayathat, was present to greet the team and coaching staff, offering his encouragement ahead of the crucial match.

The one-hour training focused on tactical preparations and finer details for the upcoming final. Striker Supachai Jaided of Buriram United expressed the team’s unwavering ambition to secure the championship. “The Thai national team will play to become champions,” Jaided stated, emphasizing their goal to win every match and emerge as the top team in the tournament. He also highlighted the importance of their approach to achieving this goal, noting that while they are close, collective hard work is essential.

Thai players also spoke about the team’s unity as a key strength, noting that they play for each other regardless of the circumstances on the field, a trait demonstrated in previous rounds. They acknowledged that while not perfect, their collective spirit has brought them to the final. The players emphasized mutual support, both on and off the pitch, and a shared commitment to the game among all squad members.

Regarding their opponents, Supachai acknowledged Indonesia’s formidable and skilled players but asserted that the Thai team possesses equal strength. He anticipates an exciting contest and expressed confidence in their ability to counter Indonesia’s tactics. Jaided added that any underestimation by Indonesia could be a costly mistake for the home side.

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final between Thailand and Indonesia is scheduled for October 5th at 8:00 PM local time, to be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Indonesia.
