ThaiGP 2027 Tickets Launch Globally November 3

By Editorial Staff · 8 October 2026
ThaiGP 2027 tickets go global November 3.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) will host a press conference on Tuesday, November 3, to announce Thailand’s readiness for the 2027 MotoGP World Championship motorcycle race. The conference, scheduled for 2:00 PM on the 25th floor of the Sports Authority of Thailand Building in Bangkok, will also mark the commencement of global ticket sales.

The ThaiGP 2027 is scheduled to take place from March 5-7, 2027, at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram Province. Thailand has been chosen to host the season-opening race and the pre-season test for the third consecutive year, making it the first circuit globally to kick off the competition under the new MotoGP technical regulations beginning in the 2027 season. This year also signifies the start of a new five-year contract for the Grand Prix of Thailand, extending from 2027 to 2031. Building on Thailand’s successful track record and the trust garnered for another term, organizers aim to maximize the economic, tourism, and promotional advantages for the nation through this prominent international sporting event.

Ms. Prodpraan Samannmit, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, highlighted the enduring popularity of ThaiGP, noting the consistently high attendance and enthusiastic fan response, particularly for Grandstand tickets, which are highly sought after upon release. In recent years, ThaiGP Grandstand tickets have sold out in mere minutes, with 2024 sales concluding in 3 minutes and 12 seconds. This record was surpassed in 2025 when over 10,000 seats were sold in just 2 minutes and 55 seconds. In 2026, sales again concluded rapidly within 3 minutes and 21 seconds, underscoring the strong and sustained fan demand for attending the races at the Thai circuit.

The 2026 ThaiGP saw an attendance of 228,228 over the three-day event, contributing approximately 5.139 billion baht to the economic circulation in Buriram Province and surrounding regions. The event’s live broadcast reached an estimated audience of over 800 million viewers in more than 200 countries. These figures illustrate that the value of MotoGP for Thailand extends far beyond ticket sales and spectator numbers, encompassing revenue generated from travel, accommodation, dining, tourism, merchandise, services, and the global promotion of Thailand.

Ms. Prodpraan emphasized that while ticket sell-outs are positive, they should not be the sole measure of success. The primary objective is to ensure Thailand and its people derive maximum benefit from each MotoGP event. The new contract period is intended to focus on broader advantages, particularly in the realm of sports tourism, encouraging international sports fans to visit and spend in the country prior to the event, and generating significant influx of spectators for Buriram Province and its neighboring areas during the competition.

ThaiGP has successfully integrated global racing with distinctly Thai elements, showcasing local cuisine, products, cultural performances, Muay Thai demonstrations, concerts, and fan zone activities. For the 2027 event, organizers plan to enhance both on-track and off-track experiences to diversify spending opportunities and increase access to Thai products and services for motorsport enthusiasts. A greater emphasis will also be placed on incorporating Thai arts and culture into the event’s programming.

As the season-opening circuit for the third consecutive year, Thailand will capture early attention from the MotoGP community, especially in the 2027 season, which will feature new 850cc bikes and updated technical regulations. ThaiGP will be the first circuit where fans worldwide will witness the new generation of race bikes competing for world championship points.

In preparation for the race, Thailand will host the Buriram Test, a pre-season test event, on February 6-7, 2027, at the Chang International Circuit. This will provide MotoGP teams and riders an opportunity to test the new bikes before the season officially commences on March 5-7. Further details regarding pricing, ticket categories, benefits, and key activities for ThaiGP 2027 will be officially announced at a later date. Updates will be available on the Chang Circuit Buriram fan page.
