Immigration police have arrested a 42-year-old South Korean national, identified as Ki Moon, at a condominium in Bangkok’s Thong Lor area for his alleged involvement in distributing pornographic videos of teenage girls online. The arrest, which took place on Sunday, followed an Interpol request for his detention.
Pol Lt Gen Noppasilp Poolsawat, the Immigration Police Commissioner, stated on Monday that Mr. Ki was wanted in his home country for allegedly posting a substantial amount of pornographic content online, specifically depicting girls under the age of 16.
Commissioner Noppasilp added that Mr. Ki had fled to Thailand earlier this year, shortly before South Korean authorities were poised to apprehend him. The suspect has reportedly confessed to being an administrator for a pornographic website based in South Korea.
Immigration police have since revoked Mr. Ki’s permission to stay in Thailand and are proceeding with his extradition back to South Korea.
