Mother's refusal leads to son's tragic death.

A 23-year-old man was discovered dead in his bedroom in Pattaya after an argument with his mother over money for cannabis, according to a report from the source article dated September 22, 2026. Rescue workers were dispatched to a house in Nong Prue at approximately 5:30 AM on September 21, 2026, following an alert.

Upon arrival, officers from Nong Prue Police Station and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue workers found the young man hanging in his bedroom. Cannabis-smoking paraphernalia was located next to his bed.

The man’s 49-year-old mother informed the police that her son had a history of depression and a tendency to overthink. She also mentioned that his phone had been broken for about a week, which had contributed to his increased isolation.

According to his mother, the deceased had previously used drugs but had undergone rehabilitation. However, he had continued to use cannabis. She stated that her son had confined himself to his bedroom for approximately two days prior to his death. Normally, he would emerge to eat when she returned from work.

She recounted that before he stopped communicating with her, he had requested 20 baht on three separate occasions to purchase cannabis, but she refused. His mother stated that her son became upset by her refusal, accusing her of not loving or caring for him, before growing angry and retreating to his room.

Initially, she believed he was sleeping. However, her concern grew when she was unable to contact him for about two days. The food she left for him remained untouched, and the light in his room stayed on continuously, which was unusual as he would typically switch it off when sleeping.

Upon returning from work on the day he was found, she observed that his situation had not changed and knocked on his bedroom door again. Receiving no response, she asked her partner to help force the door open, leading to the discovery of his body.
