Hua Hin prepares for Royal Cremation Ceremony incense offering.

A meeting was held on October 8, 2026, to prepare for an incense offering ceremony in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. Ms. Busaba Choksuchat, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin City, and Mr. Papanaphat Duangkaew, Head of the Tourism Promotion and Support Division, represented the city at the gathering. The ceremony is part of the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother for the second occasion in 2026, scheduled to take place at Wat Huai Mongkol in Tambon Thap Tai, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Supachai Krutdam, the District Chief of Hua Hin, and included participation from representatives of local administrative organizations within Hua Hin District and other relevant agencies. During the session, the chairperson provided an update on the outcomes of the initial preparatory meeting (1/2569).

It was confirmed that Wat Huai Mongkol has been selected as the venue for the ceremony, which is set to occur on Wednesday, December 16, 2026. The ceremony will be held in front of the prominent large statue of Luang Pu Thuat Ong (S.G.). This location was chosen due to its suitability, ample space, and existing facilities, including parking, restrooms, and waiting areas, which are deemed sufficient to accommodate the expected public attendance.

Further discussions during the meeting covered various preparatory measures aimed at ensuring the ceremony is conducted with smoothness and royal dignity. These included plans for the construction of incense offering pavilions, general venue preparation, decorative arrangements, the making of incense, the establishment of an exhibition to honor Her Majesty, and strategies for public relations and ensuring the convenience of attendees.
