Hua Hin Plans 8km Eastern Railway Road Project

Hua Hin Municipality is advancing the construction of an 8-kilometer road along the eastern side of the railway line, from Hua Hin Airport to the Hua Na elevated interchange. This project aims to provide alternative travel routes and alleviate traffic congestion in the area, with funding and construction oversight managed by the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning.

The project is divided into three phases. Phase 1, currently underway, covers the section from Soi Hua Hin 2 to Soi Hua Hin 6 (Bo Fai). Phase 2 will extend from Soi Hua Hin 10 (behind Hua Hin Hospital) to Soi Hua Hin 68 (Soi Rong Lek). Phase 3 will span from Soi Hua Hin 88 (Nong Kai area) to beneath the Hua Na elevated interchange.

Noporn Wuttikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, has consistently championed the development of this parallel road. In 2024, a request was submitted for permission to use land owned by the State Railway of Thailand. Subsequently, in 2026, the State Railway of Thailand granted approval and entered into an agreement with Hua Hin Municipality to utilize the land to the left of the railway tracks, from kilometer 205+490 to 219+240, across six plots.

Furthermore, route surveys and boundary delimitations have been conducted to prepare a proposal for funding from the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, as part of the Hua Hin Municipality Area Development and Landscape Improvement project in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.

Upon completion, the project is expected to enhance travel options, connect various parts of the city, and ease the burden on Phetkasem Road, particularly during peak traffic hours.

The public is kindly requested to avoid areas where construction is in progress to ensure safety and facilitate smooth travel.
