On December 21, 2024, the Hua Hin Jazzical Festival launched at the Bluport Hua Hin Convention Center in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand. This vibrant event featured performances by world-class jazz musicians alongside renowned Thai artists, aiming to bridge Eastern and Western musical traditions. Organized in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Russian Embassy in Bangkok, and private sector partners, the festival spotlighted cultural exchange and tourism promotion.
The festival’s program included a rare blend of Thai traditional music and jazz. Notable highlights featured professional Thai storyteller Noppon Peratpraew delivering a specially composed narrative on Thai-Russian cultural and tourism ties. The event also showcased the Swing King band, with guest performances by rising star Ingdao and acclaimed Thai diva Gam Wichayanee. Capping the night was the globally celebrated Igor Butman Quartet, led by Russian national artist Igor Butman, whose jazz compositions enthralled the audience.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop emphasized the festival’s role in reinforcing Hua Hin’s identity as a global destination for art and music. “Hua Hin has long been associated with jazz, hosting numerous international musicians over the years. This festival breathes new life into the city’s cultural charm and highlights its capability to host world-class events, attracting international tourists and boosting the local economy,” he noted.
Additionally, the festival promoted the “Bluport Hug the World” environmental campaign, advocating for waste reduction and sustainable practices. Attendees commended the event’s eco-friendly initiatives, including comprehensive waste segregation and recycling efforts, reflecting the organizers’ commitment to sustainability.
The Hua Hin Jazzical Festival received positive feedback from both Thai and international visitors, solidifying Hua Hin’s reputation as a leading cultural and tourist destination.
