The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has ordered the closure of schools in 15 districts across the capital due to severe flooding. The closures will be in effect from September 30 to October 2, 2026. This decision, made by the BMA Education Department, aims to ensure the safety of students, parents, teachers, and educational staff. Additionally, it will allow schools to prepare for the upcoming end-of-semester examinations for the first semester of the 2026 academic year.
Among the districts affected by severe flooding is Khlong Sam Wa. Schools that are temporarily shut will arrange make-up classes at a later date and are instructed to communicate these arrangements promptly to parents. For schools located in the 14 districts experiencing moderate flood impact and the 21 districts with no reported impact, district directors have been empowered to make decisions regarding further school closures as they deem necessary.
