Prof. Dr. Yossachanon Wongswasdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), along with his team, has continuously visited the disaster relief operation center at the Tambon Administration Organization of Faigaew, Phu Phaeng District, Nan Province, to meet and encourage the affected people and officials. They also distributed relief bags and discussed the urgent issues faced by the Faigaew community.

During the visit, it was found that the most pressing issue for the locals is the water supply system, as the floodwaters have damaged and swept away the water pumps used for daily consumption. Prof. Dr. Yossachanon instructed the officials to ensure adequate food supply for the people and to urgently address the electricity and water supply issues.
The Deputy Prime Minister outlined a three-phase policy to tackle the water supply problem in the area:
1. **Short-term**: Immediately provide clean drinking water to meet the community’s needs.
2. **Medium-term**: Procure additional water pumps and coordinate with the Ministry of Education to send vocational students to repair the damaged pumps.
3. **Long-term**: Discuss with the Comptroller General’s Department to allocate additional budget for new water pumps to replace the lost ones.
The team, led by the Deputy Prime Minister, will stay in Nan Province for two consecutive nights to closely monitor the water situation 24/7. They are ready to coordinate immediate assistance in case of emergencies until the flood situation improves.
Additionally, many households in the area have elderly residents living alone. The community of Mueang Wiang is the last point before the water flows into the dam. Prof. Dr. Yossachanon emphasized the need to urgently mobilize resources to repair and restore the damaged homes.
Later, they visited the Department of Public Works bridge, which connects Wiang Sa and Lai Nan sub-districts across the Nan River. The water level has risen, flooding the surrounding community and cutting off the bridge, making it impassable. Officials and locals are urgently placing sandbags to prevent further flooding and alleviate the situation.
