A 54-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson died instantly after crashing through a barrier and striking the rear of a 10-wheel truck. Workers at the scene reported that traffic cones and warning lights had been deployed.

The incident occurred at 00:30 on August 20, 2026, when Don Mueang police station received notification of the crash. The accident took place near Soi Songprapha on Songprapha Road in the Don Mueang Subdistrict and District of Bangkok. Police, medical personnel from Phumiphon Hospital, and volunteers from the Po Teck Tung Foundation responded to the scene.
The collision happened on a three-lane road where two lanes were closed for water pipe installation, leaving one lane open for traffic. A white 10-wheel crane truck, registered in Bangkok, was parked in the right lane and sustained damage to its left rear. The Harley-Davidson, also bearing Bangkok plates, collided with the truck at high speed.
The rider, identified as Mr. Nong, whose last name was withheld, was discovered unresponsive with critical injuries. Despite approximately 30 minutes of resuscitation attempts by emergency responders, he could not be revived. He was dressed in a black short-sleeved shirt, black leather jacket, and black jeans. His body showed severe head trauma and was covered in blood.
Workers on site stated that they had set up orange traffic cones and activated warning lights. They reported that the rider approached at a high velocity, failed to brake, and drove through the cones and signs into the closed section of the road before impacting the truck.
Initial findings indicate that the rider succumbed to his injuries at the moment of impact. His body was transported to Phumiphon Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities are continuing their investigation, which includes reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
