Hua Hin Prepares for ID Card Registration with Rehearsal Meeting

Mr. Jirawat Prahamani, Secretary of Hua Hin Municipality/Local Registrar, and Ms. Thamolaporn Tonkhu, a civil registration and ID card officer from the Secretary’s Office, attended an online practice meeting for the implementation of registration and national ID card services via Zoom Meeting. The event was organized by the Central Registration Office, Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, at the Chomsin Room, Hua Hin Municipality Office. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Narucha Koshawisai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, in his capacity as the Central Registrar. Also present were Deputy Directors-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, registrars from the 50 districts of Bangkok, provincial registrars, district registrars, local registrars, and registration officers from across the country, all participating online.

Key guidelines and instructions from the Department of Provincial Administration included thorough verification of residency to prevent identity fraud and duplicate registrations for foreigners, strengthening measures as per the Cabinet’s resolution to prevent rights abuse and document forgery. Additionally, the meeting emphasized verifying genuine relationships and cohabitation to prevent fake marriage registrations and ensuring that no citizen’s complaint is refused, even if documents are incomplete.

The meeting aimed to practice and ensure the correct, transparent, and efficient implementation of registration and national ID card services. It also emphasized measures to prevent registration fraud, secure data, and the operational guidelines of the Anti-Registration Threat Task Force “DOPA N.I.C.E” to enhance the service standards of registration offices nationwide.
