The Huahin City Municipality held a meeting on Monday to discuss the change of land use for a public park. The meeting, chaired by Mayor Nopparat Wutthikul, was attended by key officials including the Director of the Engineering Department, the Director of the Public Works Department, the Director of the Health and Environment Department, and other relevant staff. The municipality has submitted a request to change the use of 19 rai of public land adjacent to the seaside park for recreational purposes.
The Phetchaburi Province announced that the Ministry of Interior’s regulations, effective from January 30, 2025, grant provincial governors the authority to approve such changes without prior submission to the Land Department or the Ministry of Interior. The province has instructed the municipality to proceed with the project in accordance with environmental protection laws, waste management systems, traffic management, safety regulations, and guidelines from the Marine Department regarding waterfront construction or modifications.
Mayor Nopparat Wutthikul has assigned the Engineering Department to design the public park in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem. The Public Health Department will oversee the waste management system, while the Traffic and Safety Department will plan and implement safety measures. The municipality will also prepare a report for the Huahin District Office to submit to the province.
